For the past 28 years Robb Fickman has defended people accused of serious State and Federal crimes. A frequent speaker on topics including “Cross Examination of Snitches” and “Trial Preparation,” Robb served as President of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association (HCCLA) (2006-2007). As President, he led the demand for the City of Houston to fully fund the investigation into the HPD Crime Lab Scandal. As President, he donated historic replicas of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights for display in the foyer of the Harris County Criminal Courthouse and the Harris County Juvenile Courthouse. In 2010, Robb organized the first July 4th public reading of the Declaration of Independence on the steps of the Harris County Criminal Courthouse. In 2010, Robb was also featured on the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Best of 2010 DVD as one of the highest-rated speakers. When he is not in court, Robb Fickman climbs mountains, including Mt. Rainier, Mt. Shasta, and the tallest mountain in North America, Denali.

Reading the Declaration of Independence

When I was young, I loved the 4th of July. I was raised in Roswell and Midland. Being a Jewish kid, there were a few holidays, like Christmas and Easter, where I felt downright left out. But that was never the case with the 4th of July. My father, the son of a Russian immigrant, embraced the 4th as if my family had been here since 1776.
